What is Dry needling?
Dry needling (DN) is a skilled technique performed by a specialty trained and certified healthcare practitioner (in this case Occupational Therapist/Certified Hand Therapist) using a single-use, single-insertion, sterile filiform needle, which is used to penetrate the skin or underlying tissue to effect change in body conditions, pain, movement, impairment and disability.
The focus and goal is to help with myofascial, trigger point pain, loosen up “knots” in the muscle, increase circulation to encourage your bodies natural healing.
At Pathways Hand Therapy, we focus on the arm and upper body, as it relates to your Hand therapy issues and how it effects your ability to complete daily tasks whether routine or leisure!
